crazyDiva’s Mishap with eBay Seller bestbuykorea
|
I really enjoy finding deals on eBay and have never had a bad experience with them until recently. I’ve been using this Water Action BB Cream from Hanskin for a while now and really like it’s texture because it’s more watery and less thick/oily than normal BB creams, so I wanted to restock. The Hanskin store in Hong Kong closed down, and the only place where I found this BB cream was on eBay, so I decided to order from the seller bestbuykorea without carefully reading their feedback. I paid through paypal and was expecting my products to arrive in 7-14 days. Lo and behold, the 14 days passed and I had received nothing in the mail and absolutely no replies to my messages to the seller! I went and checked the seller’s feedback and found out that they have 4 negative feedback comments in the last month and 10 negative feedback comments in the past 6 months. All related to poor communication with the seller and not receiving items ordered through eBay! I immediately opened a case with eBay customer support and a week later, I got my full refund. Thanks to eBay, I got my money back and I’m a happy camper again. I left negative feedback for bestbuykorea, but then realized that the comments box has a 50-character limit, so there wasn’t even enough room for me to bitch about them! |

Sale on now at BCBG, Toronto!
|
I think pretty much everyone knows that you never buy anything from BCBG at the regular retail price because their merchandise goes on sale so quickly that you shouldn’t be paying any more than 50% of the original price tag. They do make wonderful dresses, shoes and accessories though, which is what I always look for when I’m there. Dropped by the Hillcrest Mall location last night and picked up a few items because all sale items were an additional 30% off! Black dress $310 $108.5
Capris $114 $56
Printed dress $196 $67
Satin pumps $226 $79

Kathy’s Nails and Spa – Gel Nails for the Amateur
|
I love getting gel nails. I think it is a great invention and a great alternative to the conventional manicure because it lasts so long and does not chip for up to 3 weeks. There is a nail spa that opened up about a year ago at the plaza by Woodbine Ave. and Major Mackenzie Dr. I’ve always walked by there but never had a chance to go give it a try until last Friday. Kathy’s Nails and Spa has great equipment and a nice setting. There are also 3 locations for you to choose from in the Markham and Stouffville area, which are not all displayed on their website, but are listed on their store brochure. This location has 6 pedicure massage and spa chairs along one wall and 6 manicure stations along the other side of the wall. I was pretty excited when I saw the place. Unfortunately, the manicurist did not have the skills to go with the tools. I wonder how long they have been in the business of gel nails because not only did the manicurist not have any pre-made designs for me to choose from, she didn’t have a big selection of colour gel or sparkles available either. I decided to pick a darker purple colour with gold sparkles, very simple design, and just wanted her to get it over with so I could get out of there. It took her several tries to get the colour gel the way I wanted it. All the different colours that I tried on were very transparent and didn’t turn out opaque even after 2 coats. When I thought that hurdle was out of the way, the manicurist surprises me with another amazing act of trying to apply sparkles to my nails by using the same paint brush that she used for the gel! Obviously this didn’t work as the sparkles wouldn’t stay on my nails, so I asked her if she had another type of brush, and when that didn’t work, she decided to just dip my whole nail into the jar of sparkles!! I couldn’t believe how bad this experience was and how this store could possibly provide gel nail services to customers when they are so amateur. The finished product turned out to be alright, but as you can see there are sparkles spread all over the nails instead of just at the tips.

Stay Forever Young!
|
Even though crazyDiva is turning the big 2-9 this month, it doesn’t stop her from shopping at brands like Forever 21 and H&M Divided. Ok, ok, so most of the clothes in these stores are for teeney boppers, but if you take a quick peek around, you will still find stuff that’s appropriate for us soon-to-be 30-year-olds. Here were my purchases: H&M Divided cardigan $29.95
Forever 21 cardigan $34, camisole $9.80, fashion necklace $7.80

Heavage
|
When I was browsing around looking for online Christmas deals, I notice lots of deep plunging necklaces on many of the men clothes. Little did I know that this “trend” was coming back this season and there’s even a term for it… HEAVAGE. So what is a heavage? Here’s a description that I found:
Looks like it was popular during the Grease, young John Travolta days… |

Jimmy Choo for H&M – Not so epic fail
|
Today was the highly anticipated release of the Jimmy Choo for H&M collection in selected stores worldwide. From our experiences in the last Comme des Garcons for H&M event, I knew that this would be at least 10x crazier than that one. I even contemplated staying in Montreal this weekend with the hopes that there might be less people lining up than there would be in Toronto. Luckily, my friend Ellen and her sister Nancy were crazy enough to go line up with me at the Bloor St. location at 6 o’clock in the morning, so I was not alone! When we got to Bloor, there were already at least 140 people in line. They were giving out wristbands to the first 160 people so our hopes were high at this point. This is what it looked like at around 7am. The line spanned around the corner of Scotia Bank and down the street.
As the morning progressed, the line grew thicker in front and behind us. I guess people were saving spots for their friends as well. Nancy went up to the front and asked the girl who was first in line, and apparently she started waiting in line at 5:30pm the day before! That’s what I call hardcore! At around 8:30-9:00am, they started handing out the 160 wristbands. To our disappointment, we were short by around 10 people! That means we wouldn’t be able to get into the exclusive shoes, handbags and accessories section until 12pm. It was too late to turn back at this point, so we decided to just wait till the store opening at 10am to see if we can grab any of the clothing. The window display was very tempting. I wanted everything in there, but we were prepared to go home empty-handed.
The store finally opened right at 10am, and everyone literally dashed into the store! Hands were grabbing at all the clothing on the hangers and the menswear and men’s shoes were gone in seconds! Ellen was able to grab some boots, a blazer and some scarves. I finally ended up with this scarf for $59.95.
Thankfully, Ellen knew a friend in line ahead of us who did get a wristband. Pam was so nice and she looked out for us girls, so when her turn came to visit the exclusive shoes, handbags and accessories section, she grabbed us a few items. Unfortunately, there was nothing left that I really wanted, and the one pair of flats that she got did not fit me, so I ended up with this cheetah print bag for $149.99. What do you think? Should I keep this or sell it on eBay??
Good thing Ellen and Nancy were able to get some items that they wanted, so it wasn’t an epic fail after all! Yay! |

Jimmy Choo for H&M Wishlist
|
Jimmy Choo’s collaboration with H&M is coming to select stores around the world next Saturday, November 14, and I’m uber excited!! I plan on getting to the Eaton Centre store bright and early that day. Hopefully, I can be one of the first 160 in line so that I can get an exclusive shopping experience. Check out the full collection here. Here’s what I want to get:
All the shoes that I want to get are between $129 to $149, so I doubt I will be able to afford all these! I looked at the clothing, but they do not appeal to me that much, so I won’t be looking at those until after I’ve grabbed all the shoes that I can from the racks. Wish me luck! |
